PhD Candidate Keyu Yan has published a peer-reviewed article in World Art. Entitled “Contested Traditions: Contemporary Chinese Fiber Art and Gu Wenda’s Wisdom Comes from Tranquility (1986),” this article examines the artistic and sociopolitical significance of Wisdom Comes from Tranquility, a mixed-media installation by the Chinese artist Gu Wenda, and the emergence of contemporary Chinese fiber art in the 1980s.
